Super Easy Guide to a Winning Craps Session

Assumptions: Craps is an intimidating game that many people don’t know how to play.

Some people don’t want to become expert gamblers, they just want to enjoy the casino.

The casino is more fun if you win and leave.

Disclaimer: This Super Easy Guide does not apply the Core Koncepts of Casino Kombat. Those are not super easy. Applying the Core Koncepts will create more wins more often, using more complex strategies. The Core Koncepts are explained here.

  1. If you do not have a players card for the casino, find the rewards desk and get a players card.
  2. As you walk past craps tables looking for a spot to play. Find the sign that tells you the table limits. Find something with a limit you can afford to play, by multiplying the table minimum by 10, that will be your buyin amount. Do not play if you do not have the buyin amount available or are uncomfortable with losing that amount of money.
  3. There will be a disk on the table. If the white side is up and says on, stand at a spot and wait for the disk to be flipped over to the black side that says off. That signals the start of a new round. Placing your buyin money and players card on the rack in front of you indicates you intend to play after this shooter is finished.
  4. Put your players card and ten times the table minimum bet in the area that says COME in the middle of the table. This is not a bet, the dealer will take that money and give you chips. Put the chips in the rack. The players card will be swiped and you will get tier credits for your play.
  5. The dice will be passed to a player and thrown or shot. Wait for the disk to be flipped to the white/on side and placed on a number. Then make the following bets…
  6. Let’s suppose the table minimum is $10, take $35 in chips, and put them where a dealer not holding the stick can reach them and say, I want the 5, 6, and 8 please. The dealer will give you $1 in change.
  7. Also, put $10 in the box labeled field. You now have a $10 bet that a 5 will be thrown, a $12 bet (the minimum) that a 6 or 8 will be thrown, and a $10 bet that a 2,3,4,9,10,11, or 12 will be thrown. You can only lose if a 7 is thrown.
  8. When the dice are thrown if the roll is a 5, 6, or 8, the field bet will be lost, and the player will be paid $14 for winning the bet placed on the number thrown. $4 should be placed in the players rack, and the field bet of $10 should be replaced.
  9. If any of the field bet numbers other than 2 or 12 is thrown next, the player will be paid $10 and will lose nothing. If a 2 or 12 is rolled, the player will be paid $20 and will lose nothing. Those winnings should be placed in the players rack.
  10. You can see from this illustration, that you will only lose if the shooter throws a 7. If that happens, you will lose all of your wagers.
  11. Once you have been payed twice with the disk in the on position, remove your field bet, and tell the dealer your bets are off. A small marker saying off, will be placed on top of your bet on one of the numbers indicating all of your bets placed on numbers are off.
  12. Now wait patently, until the shooter throws a 7 and the disk is changed to the black off position. Note that you can’t lose any money at this point, your bets are off.
  13. When a new shooter establishes a point changing the disk to on and white, put $10 on the field bet, and tell the dealer you are working. This will remove the off marker from your 5,6, and 8 bets. Repeat steps 6-12.
  14. Leave the table, if you have your starting buyin plus 50%. That would be $150 in this example
  15. Leave the table, if you have lost several times, and no longer have the chips needed ($44 in this example) to make another bet.

Final note, this is a slow system for grinding out a win called the iron cross. It is very conservative. You will spend a fair amount of time hanging out in the casino and having fun. Good Luck.
